The robot, named "EMA", which stands for Eternal Maiden Actualization, is designed to pucker up for nearby human heads, entering "love mode" using a series of infrared sensors powered by battery.
"Strong, tough and battle-ready are some of the words often associated with robots, but we wanted to break that stereotype and provide a robot that's sweet and interactive," said Minako Sakanoue, a spokeswoman for the maker, Sega Toys to Reuters news agency.
"She's very lovable and though she's not a human, she can act like a real girlfriend."....

Hundreds of naked cyclists rode through the streets of Mexico's capital on Saturday to demand respect from drivers in a city choked with some 4 million vehicles.
More than 500 men and women, half of them nude, pedaled along Mexico City's historic Reforma Avenue to the vast Zocalo Square, chanting, "Save your planet, use a bicycle!"
Some had "emission-free vehicle" painted on their backs...... |

Police found Angel Torres, of Hartford, on the ground in front of 33 Park St. Friday, May 30, at approximately 5:45 p.m. Torres had suffered head injuries when he was hit by a car, police said.
He was taken to Hartford Hospital, where he is in critical condition and is paralyzed from the neck down.
Witnesses reported that two vehicles were driven recklessly north on Main Street.
A blue or black older model Honda was chasing the front vehicle, described as a tan older model Toyota, police said.....

Maxi Mounds’s 36MM bust was accepted by Guinness World Records in a new World's Largest Augmented Breasts category, after years of lobbying by the entertainer.
Each of her breasts weighs 20 pounds – and they are still growing, thanks to the controversial "polypropylene string" treatment that created them.
Unimpressed by the results of standard silicone implants, Ms Mounds had plastic string inserted into her breasts in 2000. |

Someone has unearthed a Relate-style test from 70 years ago, designed to measure how women rated as wives. Back then, wifely misdemeanours included soiled aprons and wearing cold cream to bed (who knew?). A wife got merit points for asking her husband’s opinion on important purchases and letting him sleep late at weekends. You will not be surprised to learn there was no equivalent test for men, so I have decided to remedy that and bring you the up-to-date Good Husband Guide 2008.... |

After three years of blood, sweat and tears, in all corners of the world, British tennis player Robert Dee has finally won his first match.
The 21-year-old, dubbed the 'worst player in the world', grinded out a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Arzhang Derakhshani in a qualifying section of a futures event at the 55th attempt.
Victory for journeyman Dee, who registered a career ranking high of 1466 in May 2005, has proved a double-edge sword.

Jessica Gaude differs greatly from her pals. With 222
kilograms, she is the fattest child in the world.
She eats 10,000 calories each day in Coca-Colas, 15
hamburgers with fries and several kilograms of chocolate.
What she eats in one day some children eat in half a year.
Her breakfast consists of white bread, potato chips and
two litres of coke. And she wants more.
When she last visited the doctor four years ago she had
110 kilograms. Unfortunately, she can no longer run and
instead of walking she drags herself on the floor. Under
such bodily weight her bones have already become
distorted.
Mother Carolyn gives her daughter whatever the child
wants. In the first week after she was born, when the baby
cried because of stomach pains, the mother calmed her by
feeding her with a bottle because she thought the child
was hungry. “I gave her the bottle and she wanted more and
more. It was not enough for her and she was constantly
hungry”, Jessica’s mother says.....
